One Travel Habit You Should Adopt Before Your Next Trip

We love to travel at The Hive! But somewhere between packing the “comfortable but cute” shoes, checking the weather 17 times and wondering if we really need six outfits for a three-day trip (we all do it!), it is easy to forget a few simple things that can save a LOT of hassle down the road.

A must-do travel habit: Before you leave, take pictures of all the important stuff!

Snap a photo of your passport and driver’s license. Take a picture of your prescription bottles and travel documents. Photograph the inside of your suitcase before you zip it closed so you have a record of what you packed. And don't forget to take a picture of where you parked at the airport. There is nothing quite like returning from a wonderful trip, slightly jet-lagged, and wandering around an airport garage clicking your key fob like you’re trying to send a morse-code message.

One important note: be smart about where you store photos containing personal information. A secure, password-protected location is better than leaving sensitive documents sitting in an easily accessible photo album. But for luggage contents, parking spots and travel details, a quick picture can be a lifesaver!

More tips:

1. If you are checking a bag or even if you aren't, tossing a location device in there (like an Apple AirTag, Galaxy Smart Tag, Tile, or any of their techy cousins) is like giving your luggage a GPS. So, if your bag decides to go on a solo adventure, you'll know exactly where it went. Also put one in your fanny pack, purse, carry-on bag or any other bag you want to keep tabs on.

   

2. Slap a cute, colorful handle cover on your suitcase, so when it comes down the conveyor belt or pops out of the overhead bin, you won't accidentally adopt someone else's luggage. Because let's face it, almost all luggage looks the same.
