Vacation exrcise

Don't miss a thing with The Hive Women and Buzz from The Hive!

Vacation is a time to relax, recharge, and soak up the sun—but that doesn’t mean your fitness routine has to take a back seat. Whether you're at the beach, in the mountains, or visiting family, a little movement each day can keep your body feeling strong, energized, and injury-free.

And the best part? You don’t need a gym, fancy equipment, or even much time. Here are a couple quick and fun summer vacation workouts you can sneak in between adventures.

Morning Mobility Flow

Start your day with this gentle full-body warm-up:

  • Arm circles - 30 seconds each direction

  • Field Goal Openers - 15x

  • Cat / Cow - 30 seconds

  • World’s greatest - 5x each side

Great for: stiffness, posture, lubricating joints to keep them mobile throughout the day!

Beach or Balcony Bodyweight Burner

Try this mini circuit 2-3 times:

  • Squats 15x

  • Wall / Counter Push-ups 15x

  • Backwards lunge - 10 ea leg (hold chair for balance if needed)

  • Knee plank - 2x30” hold

Strengthens legs, arms, and core using only body weight

Bonus: Vacation Activity Hacks

  • Take the stairs instead of the elevator.

  • Take a lap at the airport before you sit hours on a flight.

  • Do heel raises while brushing your teeth.

  • Go for a morning or sunset walk—aim for 15–30 minutes.

Final Thoughts

As a physical therapist, I always encourage consistency over intensity. Even just 10–15 minutes of intentional movement can make a difference in how you feel—physically and mentally. It keeps your joints happy, your muscles strong, and your energy up so you can enjoy every moment of your trip.

Remember: vacation is about joy and balance. Keep it light, keep it fun, and keep moving!

Wishing you a strong, active, and joy-filled summer!
